SCA
“The SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our “Known World” consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.”
I have been a Member of the SCA for about 10 years all told. I took a couple years off to deal with some personal issues and have just returned in the last year to start “playing” again. The SCA is a great educational organization with a ton of knowledgeable people on almost any subject of medieval life you can possibly imagine. I cherish my time in so far and look forward to the years to come.
In the SCA I am Lord Adhemar de Chartres, a 12th century Hospitaller Sergeant of the Knights of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem. I am charged with protecting Pilgrims traveling to holy places around the middle east.
